The Journey/Route
The A.T. is America's first public footpath, across 2174 miles of Appalachian Mountains. Below is a map of the entire route being traveled by BKG.

Dedication
This journey is dedicated to my grandmothers. Dorothy Kent Gavutis "Grams" who has passed on, and Mary Gomes "VoVo" who is 96 and lives in Fall River, MA.
This journey is also in memory of Walter B. Harris who lived at Bloomingneck Farm in Kent County, MD. Walter was a scholar, a philanthropist, a conservationist and a charming storyteller. To learn more about this amazing gentlemen click here. With the help of conservation groups he was able to stop a businessman from building a huge marina in the adjacent swampland that is now used by hundreds of Echo Hill Outdoor School students yearly to learn about conservation and appreciation for our natural environment. To learn more about Echo Hill Outdoor School or to make donations on behalf of Walter Harris contact them at www.ehos.org.
"A footpath for those who seek fellowship with the wilderness."
